Overview

A single workflow for booking creatives, scaled to the way each client works.

Run it yourself, bring Blackbook in as a production partner, or give your wider team the costing controls, defaults, and approvals needed for continuous production.

Client types

Three ways to run production

The same creative network and job record support direct booking, hands-on production support, and larger operating teams.

Self-Service

For clients who want to use Blackbook directly: define the brief, build a private roster, invite talent, and run a contained production in one workspace.

  • ✓Create and manage individual job briefs.
  • ✓Invite and book creatives for a contained production.
  • ✓Use standard platform fees per confirmed job.

Blackbook Managed

For clients who want a production partner as well as the platform. Blackbook helps clarify the brief, curate the team, coordinate delivery, and keep the record visible.

  • ✓Turn an outcome or campaign need into a production-ready brief.
  • ✓Receive a curated crew or production-team recommendation.
  • ✓Add hands-on coordination through approvals and delivery.

Enterprise

For corporations and production teams that book creatives continuously and need a repeatable operating layer across estimates, approvals, team access, and job requirements.

  • ✓Manage team members and roles in the client workspace.
  • ✓Build estimates with production costing and organisation defaults.
  • ✓Approve estimates before generating job requirements.

Process flow

Step-by-step: what happens inside a job

Each job acts like a shared workspace. Clients and creatives move through the same steps, with different actions at each point.

  1. Step 1: Create a job

    +
A single job workspace that everyone can reference.

Start with a structured job card so the production has one source of truth.

    Client

    • Write the brief (dates, location, scope).
    • Set budget ranges and roles needed.

    Creative

    • View the job context before accepting any work.

  2. Step 2: Discover or invite creatives

    +
A focused shortlist instead of scattered DMs.

Shortlist the right talent using profiles, roles, and location signals.

    Client

    • Search and shortlist creatives.
    • Invite specific creatives (or roles) to the job.

    Creative

    • Receive invitations with the brief and expectations.

  3. Step 3: Confirm scope, terms, and pricing

    +
Clear agreements that reduce rework and disputes.

Align on deliverables, timelines, and commercial terms before production begins.

    Client

    • Request changes and approvals in one place.
    • Confirm pricing and responsibilities.

    Creative

    • Respond to change requests.
    • Confirm deliverables and dates.

  4. Step 4: Run production in one workflow

    +
    Fewer missed details, faster decisions.

Keep messages, approvals, and decision history attached to the job.

    Client

    • Coordinate stakeholders and feedback.
    • Track status across creatives.

    Creative

    • Share updates and questions in context.
    • Keep multiple jobs organised.

  5. Step 5: Deliver files and sign off

    +
A clean delivery trail you can audit later.

Hand over deliverables with version history and clear sign-off moments.

    Client

    • Review deliverables and request adjustments.
    • Mark items complete when approved.

    Creative

    • Upload deliverables and revisions.
    • See what’s approved vs pending.

  6. Step 6: Pay against milestones

    +
A predictable payment cadence tied to real progress.

Track payments alongside production progress and agreed milestones.

    Client

    • Set and pay milestones as work completes.
    • Keep finance aligned with delivery.

    Creative

    • See what’s due and what’s paid.
    • Avoid chasing invoices across channels.
